How to Stop Being a Perfectionist and Actually Achieve Your Goals

Do you ever feel like you are in a never ending race to achieve. It’s like if you just do that one more thing, suddenly you will feel good about yourself like you’ve finally made it. You might think perfectionism helps you achieve your goals. The reality is you live in a cloud of frustration, distress and negativity. You’re well being takes a nose dive and you really don’t achieve much at all.

Sound familiar?

If you struggle with perfectionist tendencies, than more often than not your probably tying your self worth to the outcome of your goals. As such, achieving your goals is less of a self esteem boost and more of a coping mechanism for your fear of not being enough.

I’ll say that again:

If you are a perfectionist, achieving your goals is less of a self-esteem boost. Instead, its a coping mechanism out of fear that you are not enough.

If you want to achieve your goals in a way that is enjoyable and healthy, exploring your perfectionism is a good place to start.
